Getting Started
Welcome to SocialProof! This guide will help you set up and configure purchase notification popups for your Shopify store.
After installing the app from the Shopify App Store, you'll be redirected to the SocialProof dashboard. From here, you can enable popups, configure settings, and view analytics.
Installation
Installing SocialProof is straightforward:
1. Visit the Shopify App Store and search for "SocialProof" 2. Click "Add app" to install 3. Approve the required permissions 4. You'll be redirected to the SocialProof dashboard
The app automatically integrates with your store - no code changes required.
Configuration Options
Enable/Disable Popups
Toggle the main switch to turn purchase notifications on or off. When disabled, no popups will appear on your storefront.
Demo Mode
In demo mode (free plan), popups display sample data. Upgrade to Pro to show real purchase data from your store.
Purchase Counter
Shows a count of recent purchases (e.g., "42 people purchased this recently"). Available on the Pro plan.
Position
Choose where popups appear: Bottom-left or Bottom-right of the screen.
Timing Settings
Display Duration
How long each popup remains visible (default: 5 seconds).
Interval
Time between popups (default: 10 seconds).
Initial Delay
How long to wait before showing the first popup after a visitor loads the page (default: 3 seconds).
Analytics Dashboard
The analytics dashboard (Pro plan) provides insights into your store's activity:
• **Total Orders**: Track the number of orders captured • **Products Sold**: See which products are performing best • **Recent Activity**: View the latest purchases with timestamps • **Order Details**: See product names, locations, and times
Use these insights to understand customer behavior and optimize your store.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Click the "Upgrade to Pro" button in the app dashboard. You'll be redirected to Shopify's billing page to confirm the subscription.
Will the popups slow down my store?
No. SocialProof is optimized for performance. The script is lightweight and loads asynchronously, ensuring no impact on your store's speed.
Can I customize the popup design?
Yes, on the Pro plan you can customize colors, position, and timing. Basic position settings are available on the free plan.
How recent are the purchase notifications?
By default, we show purchases from the last 7 days. This ensures notifications are relevant and reflect recent activity.
Is customer data protected?
Absolutely. We only display the city/region and product name. Customer names, emails, and other personal information are never shown.
